According to a recent report, if Venezuela’s new president, Delcy Rodriguez, maintains strong relations with Russia and adopts an anti-US strategy, then there is a possibility that in the future, Russia may deploy its top missiles, drones, and fighter jets in Venezuela, Colombia, and Cuba. For now, it is being said that Russia is now paying more attention to the neighboring countries of the US because ever since the US deployed its fighter jets, missiles and drones in Europe, Russia also wanted to deploy its top missiles, drones and fighter jets in anti-US Latin countries, but after the arrest of Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro, Russia’s military plan was foiled. But now, after the pro-China, pro-Russia, and pro-Iran Delcy Rodriguez government in Venezuela, Russia feels that, as Maduro, Venezuela’s military will still support Delcy Rodriguez, but this time, a big military conflict will start between the US and Venezuela.

Russian military presence and weapons deployed in Bolivia and others — Minor cooperation, joint production talks (e.g., small arms, drones), but no significant advanced deployments. Nicaragua — Older deliveries like T-72 tanks, An-26 aircraft, and some air defense/artillery; occasional Russian aircraft visits and training. Cuba — Historical ties, but mostly legacy Soviet-era equipment; recent Russian naval visits (e.g., 2024–2025), but no major new deployments. Overall, Venezuela has hosted the bulk of Russia’s “top” weapons in the region, serving as a showcase for Moscow’s influence in the Western Hemisphere. The 2026 U.S. intervention has exposed vulnerabilities in these systems and reduced Russia’s direct footprint following the regime change.
