US demands return of $20 Billion for US Aid from Taiwan, as Shutdown ongoing, and US military paychecks dues

Recently, it has been reported that US President Trump wants to take loans in exchange of US Treasury bond sells from Middle East, Europe, and East Asian countries amid the ongoing shutdown in the US, but due to Trump’s tariff war, the government rooms of many countries have become empty due to which the US government is not seeing any way to avoid shutdown. Due to which the US is trying to magnet back the military assistance and funds given to USAID from Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan because it is reported that due to the US Shutdown, the US Army Guards may resign from the US Army to become Mercenaries in the coming years, due to which the US Army will have a huge impact globally.

Total U.S. Aid to Taiwan (2016–2025)From fiscal year (FY) 2016 to FY 2025 (through October 2025), the U.S. has provided approximately $15–20 billion in total support to Taiwan. This includes:

• Military aid: $14–18 billion, blending direct grants/drawdowns ($4–5 billion) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF)/FMS notifications (~$10–15 billion). Taiwan has a $19–20 billion backlog in undelivered arms as of mid-2025.
• Economic/non-military aid: ~$500–600 million, focused on public health, climate resilience, and disaster response via USAID.

US Aid spiked post-2022 with laws like the Taiwan Enhanced Resilience Act (TERA), enabling faster drawdowns from U.S. stockpiles.

Why does Trump possibly demand $20 Billion from Taiwan in exchange of US army deployments in Taiwan against Chinese Threats?

Apart from this, every month the US sells some defense equipment to Taiwan because Taiwan fears that if China launches military operations, it is possible that in future Taiwan will have no option other than US made weapons. Actually, Taiwan knows very well that in the coming few years, China will invade Taiwan like Hong Kong, Uyghur, Tibetan, and Mongolia and will completely capture the South China Sea, due to which direct military conflicts between US and China will also start, but it will be very difficult for Taiwan to fight with China. But now the same compulsion of the US President has also increased that the US Government does not have money to pay its army, hence in future China can take advantage of invading Taiwan because the shutdown of US is the best opportunity for China to invade Taiwan. Due to which the US has also sold the Idaho Airbase to the Qatari Emir, due to which it has been said that Qatar will also give good money paychecks to the US Army, due to which the deployment of the US Army will increase to Al-Ubeid and Idaho. But the US also has no option but to take $5 trillion from the Middle East again because Trump has already made many investment deals with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and UAE.
