Saudi Arabia plans to order F-35 fighter jets by mortgaging oil resources for the next 50 years

Recently, some reports have said that Saudi Arabia is now going to do some deals with the US on Defense and Aviation to fulfill its vision 2030. Due to which Iran is also going to get Su-57 from Russia after Su-35 which can be received by 2026 but now Saudi Arabia believes that if Iran and Israel can become the countries having top 5th Gen fighters then Saudi Arabia can also go ahead for F-35 and Su-57 for its security and defense. Recently, Putin to send Russian Air Force Pilot to Iran for managing Su-35 and 5th Gen Fighter jets of Russia. Because of the agreement between Israel and the US, it is becoming difficult for Saudi Arabia to purchase F-35 Fighter Jets, but in the future, US and Saudi Arabia can deal with F-35 fighter jets due to Oil and Energy Borrowing. Saudi Arabia has not ordered F-35 fighter Jets, though it has expressed Interest in the past. The US has been hesitant to sell F-35s to Saudi Arabia due to Israel-US Agreements, Human rights concerns, F-35 platform sensitivity, and spare aviation technology.

Why Israel Pressure US to Avoid Selling F-35 to Saudi Arabia or The middle East?

But Israel has signed an agreement with the US that Israel should get the most advanced fighter jets which no other country in the Middle East must have. Because Israel wants the US to sell F-35 to anyone in the Middle East, then before that it will have to support Israel in normalization and Gaza war. The US has an agreement with Israel that US military equipment sold to Israel must be superior to that sold to Israel’s neighbors. The US has been wary of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record and its military cooperation with China. The Pentagon is cautious about compromising the F-35’s sensitive technology. But recently Saudi Arabia has made a deal with Turkey for KAAN 5th gen fighter jets, due to which it is becoming difficult for Israel because it is believed that there is no significant difference between F-35 and KAAN fighter jets. Saudi Arabia wants to enhance its air power to meet security challenges in the Middle East. Apart from this, Saudi Arabia is considering joining the UK-Japan-Italy Global Combat Air Program (GCAP) to develop the Tempest stealth fighter. Saudi Arabia plans to become member of G7, and European countries to launch the European Defense Fund (EDF) to develop and buy strategic arms from other countries expected US and Israel. Recently, we saw, BlackRock has stakes in Saudi oil through its exchange-traded fund (ETF) and its involvement in Saudi-related pipelines. 

Why does Trump plan to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia by mortgaging Saudi oil?

Recently Saudi Arabia has announced that Saudi Arabia is still ready to sell Crude Oil to the US at a 70% discount, in which the US can deal with replacement F-35s. But Saudi Arabia also wants to do a bigger Defense and Aviation deal with Russia, Turkey, and China so that Saudi Arabia can be protected from Greater Israeli intentions. Currently, Saudi Arabia has removed Rafale and JF-17 from its next Fighter Jets deal and has included Su-57, Su-35, F-35 and F-22 Raptor in the list, which means that in the future Saudi Arabia can do defense deal with US. But Saudi Arabia has also included the Chinese J-20 as an alternative to F-35 so that in future it can buy Su-57 and Su-35 instead of F-35. Chinese media announced, that Saudi Arabia agree $4 Billion Worth of New arms deals with Chinese armed drones, ballistic missiles, Anti-Drone laser-based systems including 4.5th generation military equipement deals.
